I think her character is really fake, and she's totally stuck up
I never liked her during the show at all
They played around with Lily's character a lot as the seasons went on. In the beginning, she really came across as a selfish, uncaring mother, particularly in her treatment of Eric. However, she really grew on me as she evolved over time. Her relationship with Chuck was particularly touching, and the two of them shared some really nice scenes over the course of the show.
She made some questionable decisions from time-to-time, but I believed that she really loved her kids and Rufus, and for the most part I really liked her until the end of season 5. Honestly, I think they just needed an excuse for Lily and Rufus to break-up to keep things interesting (I don't really know why). It was frustrating because they had been through a lot between all of the hurdles they jumped just to get together/married in the first place, the drama with Scott, William and the fake cancer, Lily's house arrest, etc.. etc.. it seemed really stupid that their relationship finally ended over something dumb after overcoming all that.
^ Agree. Honestly I was rooting for Rufus and Lily and was upset when they broke up :(
Lily did evolve slowly but she was very different from time to time. But I felt like she didn't know how to be decisive, seeing Rufus while married to Bart, and then immediately after he "dies" going right to Rufus.... Her character confused me a lot.
Yea, I can see that. I think I was such a Rufus/Lily fan that I let a lot of her behavior slide. But she definitely had plenty of flaws.Â
In the end of the day, Lily was an snobish and spolied woman.Â
Mostly like her daughter, but worse.Â

Very true.
