Roman Garrel is one of the recurring characters in the television adaption of Gossip Girl in which he is portrayed by William Abadie.

Roman, is the gay French model that Harold Waldorf left his wife Eleanor for.

Season One[edit | edit source]

Roman makes his first appearance in Roman Holiday when he accompanies his boyfriend, Harold Waldorf, to Manhattan to visit his daughter, Blair, for Christmas. When Blair realizes Roman has come along, she is disappointed and tries to scheme ways to get Roman out of the picture. While ice skating, she purposely trips him and he sprains his ankle. After learning Roman's ex, Freddie Parnes, was a troubled scoundrel, she bribes him to come to the Waldorf Christmas party to distract Roman. However, Eleanor and Harold catch on before Freddie causes too many issues and realize it was Blair who has been sabotaging Roman. After having a heart to heart with Harold on how he will always love her, Blair warmly welcomes Roman into her family. Harold also reveals he is planning a commitment ceremony with Roman and they bought a chateau together in Lyon, France.

In the finale, Much 'I Do' About Nothing, Blair leaves for France to spend the summer with Harold and Roman.

Season Two[edit | edit source]

In the season premiere, Summer Kind of Wonderful, Blair's new boyfriend, Marcus Beaton, reveals he met Harold and Roman.

Roman appears next in You've Got Yale! when he and Harold come to town to celebrate Blair's anticipated acceptance to Yale University. They surprise her with a bulldog, which they've named Handsome Dan, after the Yale mascot and accompany her to the opera that night. This is Roman's last appearance in the series.
